Thank you to Rev. Jim Wilson from www.jimwilsonministries.com for sharing this!

‘Twas the Night Before Jesus Came

‘Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house

Not a creature was praying, not one in the house.

Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care

In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed,

Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.

And mom in her rocker and baby on her lap

Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.

When out of the East there arose such a clatter,

I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear

But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.

With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray

I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!!

The light of His face made me cover my head.

It was Jesus! Returning just like He had said.

And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,

I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

In the Book of Life which He had in His hand,

Was written the name of every saved man.

He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;

When He said, “It’s not here,” my head hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love

He gathered to take to His Father above.

With those who were ready He rose without a sound

While all the rest were left standing around.

I fell to my knees, but it was too late;

I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.

I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;

Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;

The coming of Jesus is drawing near.

There’s only one life and when comes the last call

We’ll find that the Bible was true after all!!

I Am The Way

John 14:6-14 (NIV) Holy Bible

6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”

9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. 12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

****************************

Look especially at verses 12 through 14. Jesus was saying that “anyone” who has faith in Him will do what He has been doing. He went on to say that anyone who has faith in Him, will do even greater things than these. He will do whatever we ask in His name, so that He (God’s Son) brings glory to God the Father.

Having FAITH is believing in the truth that does not depend on material evidence. Jesus instructed us to HAVE FAITH (which is believing) and ASK in His name.

Do yourself a favor, and get in the habit of having faith and believing in Jesus, so that you align your will with His will for you. Jesus is in the Father and God the Father is in Him. Since God also made us in His image, He is within us. When we are in alignment with Him and His will for us, it is easier to know what God’s desires are for us.

God loves to hear and see the fruits of His desires for us, reflected back to Him. So next time you ask your heavenly Father for something, remember that what you are asking for is most likely what He wants for you anyway…and He’s the one who placed the thoughts and ideas into your mind, and placed the feelings in your heart.

Now have passion and follow God’s purpose for you BEING here. Take your action steps to demonstrate God’s divine plan in your life today.
